Swastin Design Studio is a full-service creative practice bringing together branding, architecture, interiors, and visual communication. We work with clients who want design that outlasts trends — work that carries intention in every detail.
Our logo is directly inspired by the Swastika (स्वस्तिक) – one of the world's oldest and most sacred symbols. Derived from Sanskrit, svastika means "that which is conducive to well-being." It appears in Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, and Zoroastrian traditions, and has been found in archaeological sites across India, Greece, Rome, Iran, Japan, and the Americas – some dating back over 11,000 years.
Our four bricks mirror the four arms of the Swastik. Each arm faces a direction, carries a meaning, and together they form a complete whole – just as we bring together multiple disciplines into one unified creative practice. The terracotta texture honours the earth, fired clay, and the permanence of things made by hand.
The first arm points upward and to the left – the direction of origin, of sunrise, of beginnings. It represents Dharma, the righteous path. In design, this is our foundation: every project must begin with a clear purpose.
स्वस्तिक · Right conduct, cosmic orderThe second arm reaches east — the direction of the rising sun, of growth, of new light. It represents Artha, the pursuit of material well-being and success. In practice, this is the value we create for our clients through disciplined craft.
अर्थ · Wealth, meaningful achievementThe third arm turns downward and to the right — toward depth, toward the abundance of the earth. It represents Kama, desire, beauty, and aesthetic longing. This is the creative impulse at the heart of our studio — the drive to make things that are truly beautiful.
काम · Beauty, desire, creative longingThe fourth arm completes the cycle by turning west — the direction of the setting sun, of completion and liberation. It represents Moksha, freedom from the ordinary. In our work, this is the pursuit of the timeless: design that outlasts its moment and earns a permanent place.
मोक्श · Liberation, timelessness, legacyTogether, the four arms form an unbroken cycle — purpose, prosperity, beauty, and legacy. This is the philosophy behind every project we take on.
The Swastik is not Indian alone — it belongs to the whole of human civilisation. It has been discovered independently across cultures separated by oceans and millennia, always carrying the same essential meaning: well-being, good fortune, and the eternal movement of life.
